Twice I have been involved in auctions where I have been the winning bidder and gone in and raised my "highest bid" in an effort to remain the winning bidder. At that point the automatic bidding increases by the assigned increment where I am apparently bid against myself. Ebay doesn't think there's anything wrong but I am sure it happens.
