When to mark as Shipped

I have a Custom Made Dog Clothing business and most of my designs have 15 day Handling Time.

Question, when am I suppose to mark it Shipped? As soon as they pay, yet it doesn't actually ship for up to 15 days?

Because I've been waiting till I ship it to mark it Shipped, obviously I ain't doing it right.

I saw my Summary and I have 9 Late shipping, I was DO WHAT!

So I'm reaching out to ya'll.

Thanks

Re: When to mark as Shipped

Yes, you print the label and get it scanned with the date of the day you ship.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

You don't mark as shipped until it is shipped, which needs to be within your handling time.

All the items I looked at have 1 or 2 day handling time.  What the Item Number with 15 days?

Re: When to mark as Shipped

You must not have seen several dresses with 15 and some Tux. The ones marked 1 to 2 days are already made. I do have a few of those...but several with 15. And fixing to post a bunch for holiday sales and will put 15.

So I don't understand why me marking shipped after 15 days, because I have 9 items showing late shipping under the mark as shipped. I'm so confused.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

You have to ship BEFORE 15 days not after.  Even one day after your handling time and you will be dinged.

Also, if you are not using ebay shipping you must make sure to manually add the tracking number as well before the 15 days or you will be dinged for that too.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

Yes, before 15 days, I do that

I use Ebay shipping, always.

But when to Mark as shipped.  I got 9 dings on that in my Summary.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

You don't mark them as shipped.  When you print the ebay label it automatically marks it as shipped.  You then just need to get it scanned accepted by your carrier.

Look again for the reason for the dings on your account, are it not getting scanned?  Are you sure they were for items with 15 days or perhaps you miss ones that had 1-2 day shipping?

Re: When to mark as Shipped

Here's what Summary says:

Tracking Uploaded on time and Validated:

Reason:

Not Uploaded at all.       7

Uploaded Late.                0

Uploaded on time but

No carrier scan.                1

                               Total.       8

See, that's crazy, what do I do to fix that?

How can I not have a carrier scan? That one through me for a loop.

So see, I need help figuring this out.

Also, I only started doing 15 days less than a year ago when I

found these certain fabrics that are big sellers

and keep me busier now. And I'm fairly new at selling.

Thank you for helping me

Re: When to mark as Shipped

Well it appears that tracking numbers are not being upload by ebay shipping when you printed the labels.  So something is definitely wrong here.

If you printed these labels through ebay before you manually "mark as shipped", you likely misread as the only option then is "mark as not shipped", which may have cause the problem, if you clicked on that.

If you know what some of these items were go check the order details.  Do you see the tracking number?

Also go to the label management page and check there are label history with tracking numbers there.

https://www.ebay.com/lbr/labels-history/seller-hub

If see all the labels and tracking, is the date printed all before the 15 days?  If so, I contact ebay and have them look into this.

Or send a private message with details to ebay here:

Re: When to mark as Shipped

It's too much for me. I'm so confused. Im still new to ebay.

Do I mark... do I not mark, I still don't know and have a new order

that I don't even know how to handle now.

I definitely need to call ebay

Which is what I was trying to avoid.

This is too big a mess for me...jeez.

Thank you for the time and info!

Re: When to mark as Shipped

If you print a label through ebay, do not mark anything, ebay takes care of it.  I have a feeling you marking may have caused the problem.

Print the label through ebay, go look at the Order Details, and of look at items Sold and Shipped, and all that will have been updated for you.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

Ok, so why have I heard, You got to remember to mark as shipped.  But I dont have to worry about it ever, correct,?

* Now most importantly, when do I print the label? As soon as item sells or the morning I ship?

P.S. I did eBay way back in 2018-19 My Summary was perfect and I never had an issue.

It seems different now.

Yes, I've never Not used E-bay shipping.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

You do not need to mark anything as shipped.  Once you print your label through eBay, the item is shipped and the tracking is uploaded.  You don't have to do anything else.

As for the carrier scan, it could have been missed.  It happens.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

Mark as Shipped is for when you do no use ebay labels or a service that otherwise uploads tracking back to ebay.

You print your label either the day you ship, or if you want to print it early edit the date to the day you intend to ship it.

Re: When to mark as Shipped

So the answer is, I make the label the day I ship?

Handling days. Some of my items have 2 day HT, 3 day HT and I have some

Items I can't ship until 15 Days Handling Time.

So I still print the label the day I ship REGARDLESS of

2 3 15 days Handling Time...correct?

Thanks you
