Unsafe Eclipse Glasses

I purchased 50 pair of Solar Eclipse glasses and gave them to family and friends.  Now I have learned that the glasses are probably unsafe and could cause blindness if used to view the eclipse.  The seller has not yet responded with any information so I called Ebay for help.  They told me the only way to correct the problem is to recover all 50 pair of glasses and return them to the seller.  I am more concerned about safety than a refund.   

The American Astronomical Society lists manufacturers that make safe glasses.  The glasses I received do not show the name of the manufacturer and there is no package insert.  They do show, "Made in China" on the package, but that does not prove anything. It just makes me suspecious.

Is there any way to test these eclipse glasses?  Please help me on tjhis issue.
