Unclaimed payment

How do you get rid of an item you bought a month ago, but never received and the payment you sent on the day you bought it still remains unclaimed by Pay Pal?

Pay Pal let me cancel the payment and reclaim it, and I bought the item again from a different seller, but the original one still sits in my cart and Ebay's "help" consists of telling me to contact the seller or pay for the item. BOTH of which I have done, to no avail!! Now how do I get rid of the now-un-needed item from my cart??
