So. Why has EBay not adopted the soft close on Auctions to help sellers?

What is a "soft close"??? After more than 20 years on Ebay I have never heard that term.

The bidding system is fair to all bidders who all have the same amount of time to bid their true maximum.  To give an advantage to those who refuse to do so during the time they are told they have over those who cannot be there at the end is NOT fair.
