Shipping Rates

Hi,

I've checked the "calculate shipping rates based on location" button but when the ad goes live, the rate is a modest dollar amount that doesn't reflect true shipping costs on an item of this weight. I've tried amending it, and even included in the description what I think the true likely ship cost would be, but that seems awkward! I've raised the weight of the item to reflect an increased cost but that doesn't help. ? What am I doing wrong?

If you entered the correct weight and dimensions, the calculator is very accurate. Did you weight the item in the shipping box, with all of the packing material you will use?

Remember that when you look at an item, it is showing you shipping to you.  So looking at your own item, it is shipping within the same zip which is the lowest cost possible.  Try changing the zip code on the shipping tab to see what buyers will see.
