Selling Cookies on eBay - Do I need a special license?

Hello,
I would like to launch my cookie business on eBay. I've been baking since I was a kid and over the years have developed some outstanding recipes. A friend said I should sell them online and I'm ready to start!
My concern is being sued. Do I need any special license or insurance to cover myself legally for selling home baked goods?

If you are baking to sell you will probably need a commercial food license from your county. The cookies will also need to be properly labeled with nutritional information to meet FDA regulations. Since there are many people with food allergies you would have to disclose in your listing any ingredients that may cause a reaction. Packaging may be a problem since buyers will expect the cookies to arrive unbroken if you are to get repeat business.
