Refunds-so much for seller protection

I've been lucky up to this point. My customers have been wonderful.  But...

A woman purchased a lovely hooked rug from me recently. The rug had a 'secure' latex backing. In short, she destroyed it. Literally scraped or stripped all of the backing off causing stains and discoloration throughout. Even has a spot of cat urine on it now.

All my photos clearly show the good condition in the listing, the 'after' photos show the damage.

Even though I had no return, she utilized Ebay's buyer protection before notifying me at all. I followed Ebay's agents instructionson how to navigate this through an appeal.

They admitted seeing the damage from buyer as well and said let the system close the case as it's the only way to appeal. This is new to me!

It took Ebay less than a day to basically tell me after my appeal that my patronage means nothing to them. "They can't tell who damaged the rug!" Really....after 24 years, top seller rating and great feedback, PLUS photographic evidence! They eturned her money including shipping and I have ruined rug.

Thanks Ebay, for your support!

Greed, lack of honorability and integrity apparently win the day.
