I am an International ebay buyer from Singapore, an Import Tax (GST) Collection country and my package was liable for GST so as usual I was charged by ebay on the amount during checkout.
I paid in full to ebay via PayPal. Here is the issue, the seller is from Japan so he uses his own shipping company but the Customs documentation did not indicate GST being paid and as such, the shipment is now detained by the Freight Forwarder, DHL.
I thus contacted the seller but seller claimed that Import Tax Payment has got nothing to do with him and I should settle it with ebay and it was clearly stated in the listing.
I tried contacting ebay chat, as their agent is not available, but the chat bot do not have any answers to my issue.
I am now in a dilemma with my shipment stuck in Customs here, what should I do?
Would appreciate anyone from the community especially those who have come across such a situation to advise.
