How to file USPS Insurance claim not recieved

How do I file an insurace claim on item not recieved, I filed a lost package report 10/03/17 and recieved request updates on the first of the month every month the last one being April 1,  2018 finally saying they were unable to find it. I'd like to file an insurance now but USPS site kicks it back for being over 60 days. Any help would be appreciated, cil

You need to contact the Post Office about this.  Only they would know the procedure for filing a claim.  If they investigated and can't find  the item, ask them how to claim the insurance.
