Getting a partial refund

A seller sent me the wrong item and I’ve opened a ticket with ebay. The seller says they’re willing to give me a partial refund, but claims they can’t refund me until I have ebay close our dispute ticket. Is that true? I want to make sure I get refunded and that I’m not getting scammed. Thanks!

Getting a partial refund

Hi @stacyann_123

Never close a case until the problem is resolved and all is said and done. You are entitled to a full refund.

Here's what to do...

If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund without requiring a return. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
