Efficient performing and truthful sellers deserve positive ratings.

The very best way to send Ebay a stronger message to upgrade its requirements of integrity is for us buyers never to neglect filling out those feedback ratings, at least, for those sellers who truly performed with integrity and efficiency.  Oftentimes, not all buyers bother to fill out the ratings feedback. I always take time to praise and officially acknowledge sellers who performed and delivered on their claims in their product pages.  I have encountered dozens upon dozens of sellers over the years whose selling tricks include avoiding and sidestepping key information, hoping to fool a dumber, naive buyer into a transaction. Given the misleading product details or lack of, it is apparent lots of buyers settle for less than what should be an ideal transaction if legal measures of ethics and integrity applied.  Even if buyers manage to get refunds, time and delays of getting those refunds could be avoided by smartly pounding the seller with questions for specific answers missing in their product descriptions.

The worse culprits are in the gemstone jewelry section, as are those peddling high end designer purses.  When a seller is skimpy with number of photos, or enlarging those photos is not available, that is a glaring clue.  Regardless how cheap a price appears, there is no excuse for any seller to omit certain details.  Afterall, online only shopping should be as thorough as how a buyer/consumer would usually see the item in person.  Short of being able to touch the item, photo details should capture other details.

Even gemstones should have both crown (table) plus pavilion (bottom) and girdle (circumference) shown in the photos. Only naive gemstone buyers easily impressed and fooled will  pretend lab made is same as those excavated from earth mines, until they get it appraised, or insurance companies give them the sad news of low values.  When hustling purses as couture label products, close photo shots of the external stitching and interior lining helps buyers better determine authenticity.  Many sellers, I have found, have no clue themselves if they picked stuff up at garage sales or flea markets to re-sell.  Returns and refunds cannot possibly be considered profitable for either Ebay or the deceptive sellers. Also for the budget limited Ebay buyer, it takes time to have their monies returned, especially during the holidays when we all need quicker access to our spending funds.
