Buyer Wants a full refund for "item not as described".

I shipped a heavy glass 3 compartment vanity piece in beautiful condition to a buyer who claims "it reeks of smoke". This item is completely non-porous; metal and glass. it has been washed and polished and the whole notion of it having such a strong odor she "can't bring it into the house" seems totally absurd to me. Do I have to pay return shiping for this dingbat? How can I avoid it.
