Account Gone?

I had an eBay account that I started in 1998. I haven't used it in awhile and went to try and login/find it and it seems to have disappeared. Does eBay delete accounts after a certain period of non-activity? It's trying to force me to create a new account, and if at all possible I would like to retrieve the old one as I had built up positive feedback over the years, and I now want to sell some items and it's probably gonna look shady doing that from a brand new account with zero activity or feedback. Can I fix this issue and, if so, how? Thanks in advance for your help!
