10% final fees

This 10% final fee is really eating into my bottom line. 
How do others recoup some of all of the final fees?
Has anyone tried adding a handling fee to his or her listing and explain that it is for a portion of the final fee?
I was taken back by this 10% fee as I remember not too long ago, it was only several percentage points? 
eBay has certainly gotten greedy.
