I am uncomfortable with a bidder with 0 history. Can I block that bidder?

I have a current item up for bid.  There are two bidders.  One with extensive history and one that just bid with 0 history. Can I block the "0" history from bidding?

You can.  But how much experience did you have when you started ebay?

We all started from the same (0).

A better idea than just reflexively cancelling any low FB bidder is to run an Advanced Search by Bidder on him to see what he has been bidding on in the past month*.  If he has been bidding on a reasonable number of reasonable items and waiting for one auction to end before bidding on the next, he's a good bet for being a good buyer.  If he's bidding on dozens of high end items at the same time, cancel the bid and add him to your Blocked Bidder List.

*ETA:  Since you are a seller with an active bid from him on one of your listings, you have full functionality for the Advanced Search by Bidder and can see his active bids and losing bids, beyond his winning bids/purchases which is all the rest of us can see.

Many good bidders will not bid if they see bids being removed.

Yea, I'd be a bit worried about that bidder:

30-Day Summary
Total bids: 121
Items bid on: 48
Bid activity (%) with this seller: 1% Help
Bid retractions: 2
Bid retractions (6 months): 2

2 bid retractions would get them blocked by me, but not because they had zero feedback.

Remember that if you cancel their bids the price should drop back to the starting bid amount because there would only be one bidder left bidding.

There are 2 high FB bidders.

Cancelling the questionable bidder's bids would drop the price down to $42.04 (current bid is $56.30, start bid is $.99).

I was only going by the OP's original post and didn't check the listing itself.  I stand corrected.:robotwink:
