First, if this question is not appropriate, please let me know. I am a seller on eBay and I am an avid collector of ephemera. I have an 1831 land indenture. On this indenture are two US revenue stamps. They are R85 and R89 which are cancelled in pen with a date of 1869. Is this a joke by someone or am I missing something? I'm stumped. Any help or comment would be appreciated.
