I would like help to figure out what this item is? age? and maybe who made it?
Here's what I know: On the edge there is a mark "EPNS England" and on the bottom is a red crown-like stamp/hallmark (See pics below). A family member (who is 85 years old now) said it was her grandmother's. The item is about 4.5 inches tall and about 9.5 inches wide.
Anyone know anything about this item? I've attached a few pictures.
Thank you for your help!

Could it possibly be a salad bowl?

According to Google, EPNS refers to electroplated nickle/silver - some sort of serving bowl. I expect. Check the British eBay listings and you may find out more about it, paricularly age and value.

Thank you for the tip! I did look at the Ebay listings in England - It might be a Staffordshire salad bowl. Most similar ones seem to be closer in age to 1900?
Is it the EPNS stamp that makes it's age closer to 1930?

Go to item # 121148230874 on regular (USA) eBay - looks like the same mark and maker - price is about 300.00 listed.

Yes item 121148230874 does look very similar. Thank you so much for your help! The mark/hallmark on the bottom of item 121148230874 is quite a bit more clear than the one on mine - But it definitely seems to be similar.

I would say closer to 1900 and watch to see how the listed one does. This type of pottery I would think $150 max.

I believe it is a salad bowl..
A few years ago, I sold an almost identical bowl ( e.p.n.s. trim) with matching serving pieces..(spoon & fork) .
It sold on eBay for $85.00.
The mark could be Mason's. England. ?

Here is the maker's mark from the bowl I mention in my previous post.
We identified it as being Mason's...however, we were never really sure.???

that appears to be a wood and co. mark

the pottery, glass and porcealin board is the best place for these questions.
why does this board even exist since there is a much more popular antiques board?
