David Bradley Galvanized Object. Minnow trap? Chicken Waterer?

Looking for some help on what this thing might be.  Open at both ends, 17 inches high, has a bail handle, a small crank and must be missing some parts.  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

You're probably on the right track with poultry waterer.  A quick Google search shows David Bradley Manufacturing in Chicago.

Looks like top half of a poultry feeder. Missing bottom pan

I don't think it is water related..the holes aren't even.. and it doesn't appear to have had another piece on the bottom. It looks more like a seed spreader or hopper of a kind.

I showed this t a friend the other day and he just might have it pegged.

He says it's a charcoal starter. And probably not missing any parts at all.

The form is more-or-less correct for a charcoal lighter.

However, even a single use would burn off the paint and galvanizing, and produce toxic fumes as well.

Don't think it's a charcol starter****Those have a insulated side handle-usually wood held with metal***This one has the handle above the fire-not the best design

It is a gravity fed poultry feeder missing the bottom pan. I sold thousands of these where I used to work. The holes are used to adjust the feed rate.
