What type of pins are there? Unusually short & heavy!

The 2 pins came in a bag of Jewelry Items from a thrift store. I have not been able to figure out what they were used for~hat pins? The bottoms of each are worn off at the same depth so they were clearly inserted into something able to hold their weight. They are solid (not hollow) and are much heavier than any other lapel or stick pin I've had.

Hi, are you sure the pins are jewelry? I just get the feeling they were used for decorations of some kind. Being solid as you described and short would make it almost impossible to wear on cloth without destroying the cloth.

They remind me of flower picks (for flower settings)

I am not sure at all that they are jewelry. I think that are more likely a decoration or craft item. You are right, they are too think for cloth. At first I thought they may be a lapel or hat pin but they just did not match anything like them. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it!
