Vintage Barbie clone dress Identification help

@nippypoo,

It might help if you told us what you mean by "Clone Dress".  If you mean one that was never in a Mattel catalog, but was made by a non Mfr, of Barbie fashions then trying to give you any info about it could be next to impossible. If you think it is a one off, I doubt we could give you any real info.  To my eye that dress looks like a designer one from the `60s.

Thank you so much for identifying this dress.  I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out but had no luck.  Thanks again, Barb

Just as an fyi, in Barbie collecting there's a specific meaning of 'clone'. Clone fashions were those made by other companies to fit Barbie and other 11 1/2 inch fashion dolls. There are also clone dolls, which are the 11 1/2 inch fashion dolls made to capitalize on Barbie's popularity after she was introduced in 1959. It's a term that all vintage Barbie collectors are going to know.
