Need help Identifying Marx Tin Pieces

Hi, came across a bunch of Marx Tin Playset pieces. Have had no luck figuring out what these are. Blue piece is 12in x 5in. Grey piece has a battery compartment and is about 3.5 x 3in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Resized_20220823_095717.jpegResized_20220823_100028.jpeg

@haby,

Have you any idea of the number of Tin and/or battery operated toys Marx & Marx Lumar (their Japanese affiliate) produced in the Post war era through the 70s. Just to give you an idea, they posted $50 million in sales in 1955 alone.  I have an old Marx price guide that is 450 pages long, and lists thousands of their toys. A large portion of them are battery operated tin litho items. Unfortunately, none of them show the battery compartments.

Trying to identify the two pieces you posted photos of could be next to impossible especially the "grate".   The battery box may have come from one of their tin steam locomotives.  The "Crank" coming out of the tire, may have gone into the connecting rods on the locomotive. It also could have been part of any number of items that had a motion besides rolling,  Items that had revolving motions, went up and down, or in and out.  The two parts could easily be from two different toys.

Thanks for the reply. Found out the "Blue Grates" are walls to the 24hr Mid-City Service Center. Thanks again.
