dropped off package at post office and was never scanned

i dropped off a ebay return at the local post office in the drop box . it had a return label i printed though ebay but the guy never scanned it . its been about a week and no scans so i dont get refunded now cause i guess he  stole it or someone else stole it out the post office in the middle of the day or forgot to scan the tracking number . how does this even happen its a pre paid label if they don't scan its free shipping .  the other package i sent with it got scanned. i really dont know what to do now am out the product and the money

Did you hand it over to him and he did not scan it?

Or

You just put it in the drop box and left and he did not scan it ?

In any case there is nothing you can do now so just sit tight and hope that item gets delivered and seller issues a refund.
