Wonder why UPS rates are so high?

Pittsburgh, KS is only around 80 miles north east of me.
It passed right by me headed to Texas.

How does this make any sense?

Logistics hardly ever make sense to people not in the transportation industry, but it actually does. Complicating your example is the fact that it is dealing with both UPS's and USPS's systems, no wonder it looks 'off'.

What I don't understand, is why they would ship it from Kansas City to Texas, just to ship it back up to Oklahoma.
