USPS Requiring Inspection of Damaged Items. There has got to be a btter process

Recently, and not the first time, I have submitted claims for damaged items to be inspected at a local PO along with all packaging and the letter received. There has got to be a better process. We are PAYING for insurance and in my opinion, this is their way of dodging claims. My customers should NOT have to haul a damaged item in order for a Seller to get a Claim approved. Ebay does not care whether our claims are denied or not. Sooner or later people will make a big enough stink and the PO will be facing a Lawsuit. They have no phone number, no one who can actually answer claims questions. It really needs to be overhauled.

An insurer wanting to inspect a damaged item seems reasonable to me.   Don't claims adjusters look at damaged autos before paying claims?   If the USPS were to pay claims based on someone's assertion, it would be a scammers dream come true.

Why would the PO be facing a lawsuit?

They are tired of paying false claims.

Have a great day
