I have been shipping pretty much exclusively USPS First Class Package service through Ebay for about a year. When I print the labels, there is a place to ask for free pickup, which I have been doing with no problem up until yesterday. I received a call from my local post office postmaster stating that free package pickup is not available for first class packages, even though it shows that option on their site when you schedule a pickup! When I asked him about that, he said he would take it up with the larger "hub" where packages pickup requests go. I have been doing research and it seems that USPS and ebay are partners and that labels printed through ebay are commercial based, which does qualify for free package pickup according to USPS. Does anyone know for sure what the rules are?

It's clearly stated right on the main usps.com page where you can schedule a pickup:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/search-manipulation.html
Also, farther down on that page, you must enter how many packages you have for each eligible service, and the request will go through just fine if you only show First Clas package(s). Your Postmaster might be remembering the olden days when pickup could be scheulded only if you had at least one piece that was Priority Mail.

I think you mean this page:

LOL, thanks for the correction. Apparently I didn't copy the new URL and posted one left over from a pervious discussion!
