Did usps charges go up? usually they go up after the holidays

hello guys --- i don't come here often any more.  

i noticed that we are charged more for every kind of package --- even under 8 oz etc and priority went up from 

6.94 tp 7 something for flat rate --- 

when did the increase happen?   anyone have any idea?

It was announced a month or 2 ago that they were raising rates through Christmas, I think it is.

On October 18, USPS started adding a surcharge of 40 cents to online postage for Priority Mail and Parcel Select Ground, and 25 cents for online First Class package psotage. This is temporary untl December 27, then the regular annual increase will happen on January 24.

This was announced by USPS in August, and eBay didn't say anything until October 12, when they put out an Announcement with a stupid headline that only mentioned UPS and FedEx, so many sellers overlooked the key information about the new fee.  Here's the USPS announcement:
