I would say practice first being a buyer & then start selling slowly. Fixed price is the better option.

Suggestion: You should attend seller school first before listing anything:

https://sellerschool.ebay.com/

Good luck should you choose to enroll.

As a new Seller you should make sure you have a way to get paid.

As a Sri Lankan seller you should register with your government for a business license and set up a Payoneer account because you are not eligible for Managed Payments and Sri Lanka does not allow you to accept Paypal payments.

Best wishes.

PS - don't try to sell dropshipped Chinese garbage.

@gangpit0

Everyone here who was good enough to respond to you are long time, perhaps 20+ year veteran sellers giving you very good advice.  Just because you have been given the ok from Payoneer, doesn't mean you are knowledgeable about selling on an e-commerce platform and it is evident that you do not know or you wouldn't have asked here what or how to sell.

Too many of our friends from Sri Lanka sign up to sell on ebay only to be suspended because they DID NOT follow the rules that Ebay posts and enforces.  Many selling plants and seeds which not only is prohibited on Ebay, but also with customs. Violating customs can have unfortunate consequences too.  Too many investing in drop shipping also.  Bad business strategy with negative outcomes most of the time.

Take their advice and start out slow, attend the seller school, learn the rules and make sure you follow them.  Wishing you all good things.

Good luck!

Another piece of advice I will give to a new seller starting out.

Do not sell anything...

  • Large, super heavy, or difficult to pack
  • Valuable (in other words, anything you can't afford to give away)
  • In a highly scam ridden category (phones as an example)

Start out small and lower value

Also buy two items:

  • A flexible tape measure
  • A scale

And take classes as mentioned by another poster or watch videos/do research before diving in.
