eBay Message Your Listings Have Been Ended -

I received this message from eBay today.  This is teh 8th time in the past 9 months our 501c3 eBay for Charity non profit photo sales have been ended by eBay.  Even though these listings have been on eBay for YEARS, they are suddenly ended for bizarre, erroneous reasons : ie: solicitation of feedback?? There is no where in teh listing asking for feedback.  We are raising money from the sale of our photos. See below

Your listings have been ended
Hello skydancerstar,

After reviewing your account, we've had to take the following action:
- Some or all of your listings may have been removed. A list of any removed items will be listed further down in this email. We have credited all associated fees except for payments processing fees and the final value fee for your listing(s).

Your listing appears to be intended for boosting or controlling feedback rather than selling a product. While we appreciate that you've chosen to utilize our site, we must ask that you only relist if you remove the solicitation for feedback.

Here are the listings we removed:
123713748347 - SPONSOR GINGER KITTEN SISTERS FAMILY HELPS FEED VET CAT RESCUE RECEIVE PHOTO
124066255844 - SPONSOR GINGER KITTEN SISTERS FAMILY HELPS FEED VET CAT RESCUE RECEIVE PHOTO

@skydancerstar I am not sure what the policy for those types of listings are. Till you get it resolved I wouldn't recommend trying to relist the ones that get removed. There is no phone support, but you can email eBay CS right now by clicking the "Help & Contact" link on the top of the page then scrolling to the bottom of the page on the desktop site. Someone more experienced here might know the listing policies. 123720901594 is an example of one of the listings that are still up and readable.

" boosting or controlling feedback rather than selling a product"

Some sellers will list a digital item - a photo or PDF - for a low price, no shipping, email delivery for the sole intent of raising their feedback level so they can start selling high priced items. (higher feedback looks better to buyers) Most (but not all) of the time it is done with the sole intention of scamming buyers.

I know you are NOT doing this, but Ebay's bots see the pattern and take down the listings. You can still raise money for the cats, but you will need to actually ship something, otherwise it will keep happening, and you will eventually lose your account entirely with no recourse.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

We seem to be getting closer and closer to a situation where nobody is responsible for what they did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did. - Thomas Sowell

@skydancerstar

I think this might be part of the problem: HELP RESCUED KITTEN GREY FERAL CAT RESCUE FOOD VET TNR Rec COLOR PHOTO via email or ebay messaging.

Read the policy on Digital Delivery and see if you qualify.

Hi @skydancerstar  Thank you for helping these precious defenseless animals. It is commendable.

I am very concerned for you after hearing you've had 8 takedowns in 9 months. Ebay has been known to suspend accounts, sometimes permanently, for relisting items that have been previously removed. This has been known to happen even after a seller has been given the green light to relist.

The other posters made important points. It is a good idea to start shipping the photos, with tracking, so you can continue to list your items as you have been. Otherwise, you must list via the classified ad format using the Everything Else > Information Products category and still be eligible to deliver a digital item electronically. It's that or get pre-approved by eBay to use Collectibles and send the items digitally.

Thank you so much for your response. This listing has been on eBay for at least 2 1/2 years. I’ve never had a problem with it before but I’ve noticed that several of a photo listings have been removed and we’re not soliciting feedback.

Thank you so much for your response. I’ve been selling on eBay since 2002. You can see I have over 500 listings. I am obviously a bona fide seller. I also sell photos. Some of them are mailed through the post office. Others are sent through eBay messaging so they have a copy of it. I’ve been doing this for years. In addition, we are an eBay for charity partner! It makes it very very difficult for charities trying to raise money for their animals when Ebay continues to take down our listings for a policy that does not apply to us. Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.

Thank you so much for that link. I will look into it. It must be some new thing in their system, or a competitor is reporting our listings. This has happened before to me and other charities. Unfortunately, not everybody is nice out there.

Thank you so much for that valuable information. Not everybody can afford to donate when the minimum cost to ship an item is just under three dollars. That would bring a two dollar and 50 Cent listing up to close to six dollars and some people just don’t have it. We are very appreciative of anybody that donates even a dollar. I’m pretty certain that my listings are already Listed in the everything else section. I don’t know how to determine if it’s classified. Also, we have always been a top rated seller. For years we’ve been top rated and it has gradually declined, by no fault of our own, to be low standard. Given our positive feedback it makes no sense. It is deeply disturbing that there are people selling pornography and raising moneyTo buy a new car and we’re trying to raise money for a nonprofit that is recognized by eBay for charity.
