Sent offers to watchers, Item sold weeks later after offer expired

Sometime around the holidays I sent offers to watchers for various items. Weeks later an item sold for the amount I sent in the offer. I thought that offers had an expiration date????  I checked all of my settings. I did honor the price. Is this a glitch or possibly something to do with an auto-relist?

Seems that there is a box that may get auto filled when sending an offer that results in that offer being sent to a new watcher long after the initial offer.

Watch out for this box when you send offers. If it is checked when the offer is sent, it will automatically send offers.

Thanks for the replies. I have had this happen on 2 different ebay accounts. Just like stores I may mark stuff down for a holiday sale and then adjust the price higher. Sometimes that higher price works!!
