As if the clothing category isn't saturated enough!

interim CEO Michele Pascoe said "A major problem that led to Rue21’s downfall was its 'growing irrelevance of the brand to teen consumers'"
A great opportunity for apparel sellers to acquire inventory from a brand even their CEO said was unpopular.

Oh I remember that store. I use to shop there all the time when my daughter was a teenager, well about mid teens. As she got older, that store wasn't really that popular anymore. Sad though, they had some really cute stuff and mostly pretty good prices.

Has it been that many years since I have visited a mall that have never heard of this store?

if this store is going out of business due to low sales of their product, why would I want to waste time and money trying to sell it here?

Surprised to know malls are even still in operation.

If they could not sell it, could we?
Today teens are all on social media. They can use software and AI to create their clothing shown in their on line photos. No need to keep buying the latest look in fashion. Now you just click and choose your look.
Also, with all the nudifiy software in use, who looks at clothes anymore?

Most malls are closed or are near closing' it sad but when I had to travel to Busy Washington - metro area malls most have closed even the DC Union Station stores have all but closed the eatery had been nearly deserted.
I don't see how this is a great benefit but hey there is every chance I'm wrong.
Catch the Abandoned Malls videos on Utube if you are interested, I was shocked when I first started watching them.
Being a Shopper from way back the Store closings are sad to me.
Anyway
Hope you all have a great selling season

It was very popular with teen girls. The last 10 years hasn't been good to them. They didn't pivot when they should have or change with the times. They pretty much tried to stay the same store they were when they started and did well. Businesses that don't change with the times rarely survive.

Worth it if you could get them at %90 off.

Depends on the area. In central Ohio, we have two malls that do well - typically pretty busy. We have one mall that is junk - not sure how it is still open. 9
One does just okay - smaller mall that has pivoted to specialty stores and they also now host the weekly farmers market in my hometown of worthington.
