While I can not guarantee that this is the reason, earlier this year the USPS mucked about with their rates. Where there was once a price difference between sending a one pound package and a 2 pound package, that difference no longer exists.
Any thing weighing 9 ounces or more is now billed as if it weighs 2 pounds.
That has really killed the lighter items like belt buckles, suspenders, license plates and a whole bunch of other stuff that weighs less than a pound. Their shipping costs just pretty much doubled. And the international buyers have noticed.
