Need "Back Up Funding" to be explained

So I've never had to use backup funding source. I am sometimes in the neg for a couple of days after payout.

I'm in a situation of being on time away over the beginning of March when my store fee is charged. How does that work if there's no sales to offset that?

How long does ebay let me stay negative before charging my backup funding source?

I'm funded with a credit card, so no issues there. I just wanted to know how it worked with them letting me stay in negative before they decide to charge my card (seeing as how this has never happened to me before).

I've only been in MP for 2.5 years (I was one of the last enrolled), so I don't have significant experience with different situations and I didn't understand the backup funding explanations given to others who complained about their balance being negative (just that I assume at some point eBay is going to charge their funding source for monies owed).

According to this, they will charge you after 14 days if you don't have enough funds in your eBay balance.

Need "Back Up Funding" to be explained

Hi @sin-n-dex

I am on Weekly Payouts and typically have enough Available funds to cover the occasional return for refund, store fee, etc.  However, I do recall getting a Payout of all my funds and 2 days later they charged my card for the store fee because no other sales had come in.  Another time I had all my funds payout before I finished print all my shipping labels and those charges were immediately charged to the credit card.

OK, so basically I should expect a charge if anything happens in February (causing a negative). For March, the store fee comes out between the 1st and 4th, and I'll be back on the 10th... so sales will cover the store fee (if there are enough).

Good to know, thanks for the explanation. I'll just make sure the card can be charged while I'm in "time away" mode.

No, it says within 14 days, not after.

When they did mine, it was just a few days.

Have a great day

Good catch. I'll just watch my Visa statement for the charges, but shouldn't be an issue. The card I put as back up funding is only used for eBay related stuff (like fees and shipping).

Last time they pulled from my funding source, I received an email a few days before letting me know when they were going to pull the funds, if I didn't have the avaliable funds by then.

Have a great day
