Is this a fraudulent email receipt?

Hello. Today I tried to sell my first product on eBay. The buyer messaged me asking for my email address to use as reference to make payment. I sent him my email address, and then got an email in my junk from pay.checkout.portal@gmail.com saying that payment has been made. This isn't the case, the payment shows as not complete on eBay and my balance in my bank has not changed. Is this a fraudulent email? I have already reported the buyer to eBay. What do I do now? I want to stop this sale so I can put the product back up for sale asap. How do I go about this? Will I have to pay cancellation fees?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you very much.

This is 100% a scam attempt. Do not fall for it. @erire_15

You will not have to pay cancellation fees. Wait 4 days then cancel the order on eBay with the buyer didn't pay reason. https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/resolving-unpaid-items-buyers?id=4137

Add the buyer to your blocked buyer list. https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements

Never give out your email or phone number when a "buyer" says they need it to submit payment or ask a question. They can pay and ask questions through eBay.

No prob @erire_15 . Just an FYI, this is the .com discussion forum. As you're in the UK, you may find community.ebay.co.uk to be most helpful in the future as policies can differ between the 2 sites, though you're of course welcome to participate here at any time.

Buyers never ever need your email address, PayPal address or phone number to make payment. Any buyer who requests this information is out to con or scam you.
Cancel the transaction after 4 days for nonpayment after that then you can relist.
How sellers can cancel an order

As @wastingtime101  said add that buyer to your blocked buyer list.
