I just want to make sure that my responsibility has ended once the package is delivered to the freight forwarding company.
It arrived and a signature was obtained at the freight forwarding company, but tracking does not indicate the item as actually being delivered.

Hi, signature obtained is mail-speak for delivery.

To see accurate and up to date tracking always use the Carrier site

Thank you fashunu4eeuh
So it is now the sole responsibility of the freight forwarding company for safe and intact delivery to the buyer?
How are packages handled at these freight forwarding companies? Do they open and repack?
If the items arrived intact / not broken to the freight forwarding company, then what happens if the buyer receives something damaged?

Excellent ! Thank you !

Make sure you read through this policy and know it completely. There is lots in it that all sellers should know to include stuff regarding Freight Forwarders. Don't just breeze through it. It is in your best interest to be very intimate with this rule.

If a claim is filed you're covered. I encourage you to share this example on this thread @georgei3126 :
This is the third instance of a UPS package with signature where delivery status on eBay is not updating as it should. I tagged an eBay rep on the linked thread so if you could post your example there it will help eBay escalate the issue.

No, you are not covered!
The buyer can file a claim with their bank, credit card and payment processor which is entirely independent of any eBay claim.
Only ship if you like to play Russian Roulette with your item, payment, shipping, a chargeback fee and negative feedback.

And how is this related to GSP?
The possible scenario you describe is true of EVERY sale on eBay, online anywhere for that matter.

Note that delivery is delivery to a freight forwarder. For the GSP, which is being phased out, INR claims were handled by the GSP with no repercussions on the seller.
So you are well covered when the buyer uses a freight forwarder.
NOTE
If you are faced with an INR claim, do put your Proof of Delivery to the forwarder into the Claim.
Yes. EBay already has it.
Yes. You still actively give it again.
Robots are stupid and humans are lazy. Whichever is handling the INR don't believe they will be on your side or on the buyers.
EBay is your landlord, not your friend.

Not entirely, they can still file not as described. The item has to match the listing.
