Failed to List my First Item on ebay

I'm a new seller on ebay and I'm having an issue getting even my very first item listed on ebay no matter how many times I tried. It always returns with the message:

"Request higher selling limits

Thank you for your interest. However, this feature is only available in limited release. We'll let you know when it's more widely available."
Back to Selling

From what I understand we are allowed to list 5 items per month. And here I can't even get my very first item listed and the message asked me to request higher selling limits. By the way, I'm selling ebooks & audio recordings.

Appreciate it if anyone of you experienced ebay sellers out there could help me with this issue.

Thank you.

You can't sell things like ebooks where there's no physical item, at all.

You have to be approved to sell digital items, prove you have a sucessful market for them apart from eBay and prove you acquired them legally.

Also, what it your monthly dollar limit? Is your item priced above that limit?

Hi, thank you for your response. Based on other answers I've received, the limit issue seems irrelevant.
