Vietnam 68/69 Cobra Helicopter Patch help pls

Any information about this patch would be appreciated.  It has been in my husband's "Swapped Military Patch" Box since 1968 that I know of.

The first ones given out for training during Vietnam looked similar to this, notice the nose and the tail rotor.

The second issue was for the Bell AH-1 SuperCobra my notes say early 80's training issue type.

These patches are widely reproduced,

but the tail rotor often is the difference in telling whether it's from a PX,

or one that can be obtained anywhere,

Types similar to yours are also sold as iron-on patches for ball cap type hats.

Now yours looks to be a style that may have been in a PX because the tail rotor design matches the

early 1980's style.

I wouldn't expect much extra if it was authentic, as most information on these types is conflicting

till you talk to sumone who got one in training school.

Not authorized for use on uniforms.

But it's just my opinion
