Military lighter

Looking at the "scenery", seems to be a volcano in the background.   With the inscribed year of 1952,  I was thinking perhaps medical military person (corpsman) stationed  in Japan ?  Or possibly the Philippines ?

Just a thought........

Military lighter

1954 D Company medic

Each medical battalion had a D Company, these lighters are not issued, just a keepsake, engraved into

the side no doubt by one of the crew. And most likely Korean War related, as we were still there in 54

especially with medics during prisoner exchanges till November.

Or could be anywhere a medical battalion was stationed with a D Company. Otherwise, the "D"

would have no meaning.

May have more value to a lighter collector than a Militaria collector.

just my opinion
