Can anyone give me more info on this unusual ring?

It came in a box of jewelry I purchased. The color was much darker before I cleaned it. Tested negative for gold. Someone had mentioned Rune symbols, but some of the symbols look a bit different.

It is definitely not Runic, many  however look Native American but not all of them. I have never seen Native American jewelry that is worked up in brass, it could just be an attempt by the maker to do various symbols. Since it is in brass, it's probably from India and quite possibly purchased at a Cost Plus or a Pier One at sometime. If you do a Native American symbols search in Duck Duck Go search engine, you'll see various pics of what I'm talking about.
