name of this brooch clasp

This is an enamel "sun" brooch that I picked up.  I have never seen this style of clasp and am hoping someone here will know the name or age.  Thanks!

This is not a brooch, it is a wingback earring.  Both Hillcrest and Castelcliff used this design on some of their earrings.  It was a Judith McCann design.
