Thanks!    Just want to verify......a) am I correct in thinking that handbags 20+ years old are vintage, and b) Does using the term "vintage" help sell the item?

In handbags, 20+ years is considered vintage. 

A lot of buyers do use "vintage" in their searches so it won't hurt to use it and it's not KWS since it is vintage.
