Best way to photograph a flared dress or flared bathrobe

Does anyone have any good ideas on an easy way to show the flare of a dress or bathrobe when photographing it? I have some vintage dresses and robes and want to show how beautiful the flare is on them. TIA.

Describe in text and then show the flare on a solid color sheet on a bed or the floor.

You could use a model with the picture cut off at the neck and the model could hold out the skirt of the dress or robe to show the flare.  Or you could mention the circumference at the hem.
