I bought a "customer return" phone. After making two bank transactions with the phone both the bank accounts were hacked. None of my othe devices showed any evidence of hacking or viruses.
I believe the ROM had been modified to capture password data.
Has anyone else had this sort of experience with Ebay used phones?
Ebay refused to accept returns because it took me two months to figure this out.

This exact same thing happened to me

Sounds like buying used phones might not be a good idea,
Of course, there are many other reasons for reaching that conclusion as well.

Pretty much any store, site or vendor (not just ebay) has to have some sort of return window limit. Even ebay sellers have some sort of protection and that is vague with chargebacks, etc.
Best to buy items like that from an authorized vendor with warranties.
*edit* Well, maybe not Costco...
