Mason's vista pink and Queen Anne 5873

Hello my lady friends of wealthy knowledge! I have come across two tea cup and saucer sets that my mother just gave me to sell. I have looked both here on eBay and online and am finding that the prices vary drastically! For example, the vista pink I saw for I believe around $15.00. Mom tried to sell them on consignment at $28 per a lady's rec and I found another site that is selling it for $48? http://cgi.ebay.com/Masons-Red-Pink-Vista-Transferware-Tea-cup-Saucer-x2_W0QQitemZ270230216938QQihZ0... Then I have the second set which is exactly like this listing! http://cgi.ebay.com/Queen-Anne-China-Tea-Cup-Saucer-Gold-Wee-Flowers_W0QQitemZ230264645992QQihZ013QQ... Can anyone give me a REAL idea of value vs what I can expect to get for them? The queen anne is in excellant condition but the pink vista has two chips on the cup rim and there is crackling I think called crisling? Any ideas? Thanks! Hi Jodie!!! Good to see you again in group! I checked the completed auctions for Mason Vista and it seems that the more unusual pieces sell fairly well but the more common pieces aren't commanding good prices at all. The auction you posted shows a grouping of Vista located in a seller's store. Although the photo shows a group of Vista the listing is for only 2 cups & saucers. I'm heard that some sellers will hold items in their stores at higher prices intending to list them in auction format later. I'm very doubtful that Two cups & saucers will sell at the $30.00 price they are listed. Not here on eBay anyhow. 😉 I love the busy ironstone patterns like Vista. The transferware is so detailed and colorful. I once found a badly broken and equally badly repaired milk pitcher in Vista pattern which I bought for a song at a flea market then used in a mosaic project. I haven't looked at Queen Anne so I can't comment on those but the cup sets you have are Oh So pretty! -- Warmest Regards, Yan

Hi again, Jodie! I agree with Yanny about checking the completed auctions. Just because a seller posts something at a particular price doesn't mean it's "going" for that. The true value at that time is better reflected by what buyers actually paid. If something didn't sell, there's usually a good reason, i.e. price too high for condition or price too high, period. Went to your sea glass site again. What ever happened to that cool video? I remember literally drooling over some of those pieces. take care, Bev

What? My video is gone? What site did you go to? I have 3 videos! Thank you for the advice on checking completed auctions. I don't know WHY I didn't think of doing that! Ya know, My favorite pieces of sea pottery to find are the blue willow pieces, any thing with blue pictures, and the RED ones like this vista pattern! Thanks again! I just love this groups wealth of knowledge and willingness to share! -- Jodie, Lake Erie Beach Glass http://lakeeriebeachglass.googlepages.com

Jodie, these people ask all kinds of crazy prices but that doesnt mean they sell!! I see this at estate and garage sales all the time and people dont seem to understand this..i always have to point out to them that there is not a bid on that item they printed out and most likely wont be. one tea cup and saucer i wouldnt waste my time on i have they dont sell...... maybe years ago not today. Look at my auctions. According to replacements prices i have over 700 dollars of dishes listed. Now 5 years ago i would have listed them at half of that and they would have sold. but ......... the market has gotten softer thanks to ebay "improvements" and squeeky wheels...... so now i list something like that at about a quarter of its worth. I am shocked it got bid on!! I hadnt had much luck that way either as of late. -------<-<@ here is another example. I have a table full of flow blue. The only place i saw an identical plate was on a site called my things and the appraisers there valued that one plate at 80 dollars. I listed a table full for 299. not one single bid. but someone could pull up that page and say oh look they want 299 for that. so that is what i want. The value of an item is what it sells for....not a percieved number.
