i need help with an oriental mahjong game not sure what it is

i found this at an estate sale

All I can tell you is that those are not mahjong tiles, so it is not a mahjong game.  Mahjong is played with 144 tiles, and they are quite different than the ones you have.  Even if they were some version of the mahjong character tiles, there would be 36 of them.

I believe those pieces are ivory, and ebay does not like ivory.

After further review, I'd like to upgrade my answer for $100 ebay bucks and say they are made from ivory and are not allowed for sale on ebay and... will take my ticket for the lightning round. You can see schreger lines which occur in ivory with a magnifier.
