What is this large sterling silver item?

It is made buy: The Bailey Banks and Biddle Company. What is this item called? It weighs 20 ounces and stands 5 inches tall. the bowl is 5.5 inches across and 4 inches deep. Thank you!

Seems to have the initials of the couple who owned it, one on each side.

Actually made by Towle Silversmiths (that last and very small mark you pictured.) BBB was the retailer in this case.

In my day & age, we had (still have it) one at our wedding.  We interlocked arms and the new spouses drank out of it.  Something must have worked - we are still here after 60 years!

Something similar here, and we made it to 50 years before my husband's death.  Perhaps there's something to be said for a tender moment,  instead of smashing gooey cake into your bride or bridegroom's face.
