Identify the era and possibly maker of Japanese Pheasant Pot

Hello,

Needed help with identifying the age of this beautiful Japanese Porcelain Pot.

No stamp or signature on bottom. 

There's wear on the bottom and look like it was handpainted.

Measurements: 7-3/4" Diameter x 8-1/4" H

Well, for whatever it's worth to you, those are not pheasants.  (If I can figure out what they are, I'll post it, but they are definitely not pheasants.)

Well, I was able to get back and spend a bit of time on this bird but without result.   I don't know my Asian birds very well. 

All I can say is that its general conformation, tail, beak, et cetera, make me think it is some variety of bulbul, but I just can't nail it down.  You might want to carry on along those lines, though, as I know there are several Asian bulbuls.
