It's John Hill's interpretation of a Thomas Hoyne painting called "First for Home".

It says:
John [A?] [G?] Hill
Original by Thomas Hoynell
Why can't it be just what it says it is? A painting done by John Hill, who copied it from a famous painting called "Heading Home," painted by Thomas Hoynell?
Or am I missing something?
