It looks to be a Japanese ginger jar with the inner lid, though the design, especially the double blue ring around the bottom of the jar, is odd for Japanese. That is usually considered Chinese. The bottom also looks Chinese and is quite probably in the category of 'antique', more than 100 years old (though 'quality' is somewhat lacking).
Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.
