unpaid item has appeared in paid order purchase history but it is unpaid

Here is a new one for me

I am a longtime member  but i have never encountered this.

Yesterday I won an item but it is already in my order section instead of my unpaid item section

The only payment button appears in view details  but when i click the pay now button it only brings up the same view item detail page

i have contacted the seller but s/he states he is fairly new and has no idea what the problem is

In addition seller claims s/he sent me an invoice no problem which i have not received

I know everything is okay on my end because i just made a couple  purchases and everything was as usual   no surprises no changes

only problem is with this item from this seller

Any idea  what is going on here or how to fix it?
